Hank and Anita Carr offer a mainstream straw bale construction workshop in a relaxed atmosphere. Their workshops teach the fundamentals of straw bale construction with a hands on approach and are geared to all levels of experience and ability. They strive to ensure that everyone gets to participate and offer a workshop environment friendly to women and teenagers. Our simple, environmentally preferable method of straw bale construction can be adapted to small, earth friendly, super efficient buildings and to large, energy efficient homes.

Hank and Anita live in a large, two storey load bearing straw bale homes located just outside of Spencerville Ontario. The Friday evening meet and greet is often held in their home.

There are hotels and motels within 15 minutes of Spencerville, campgrounds within 5 minutes, and a B&B one minute away. Camping is occasionally available right on the site of the workshop.

Are you a mechanic? Do you want to learn about straw bale construction? I've got a Grumman-Olsen P30 step truck that is currently fitted for propane. The tank is leaky and the lines are shot.
